Gary Milne
Partner Elton Media, Gary graduated in 1976 with honors from Television Stage and Radio Arts from SAIT in Calgary and pursued a career in Radio. His journey has included just about everything you can do in Radio from on-air to ownership including 14 years with Rogers Broadcasting Vancouver and launching the BEAT945.
Compelled to know more about media his career has included new media, mobile media and most recently television. A flair for connecting the dots Milne believes media is an important element in the overall communication strategy.
Active with Big Brothers, Salvation Army and Scouting, Gary enjoys his family and flying.
Jim Southcott
Jim Southcott is one of the Vancouver’s leading advertising professionals and Chief Strategic Officer at TBWA\Vancouver where he has direct responsibility for many of the agency’s accounts, including Boston Pizza, BC Lottery Corporation, Vancity and Parmasave. In his advertising career, Jim launched the first ever “family of dog chow” brand positioning, helped establish the extremely successful HMV strategy in Canada, prepared Telus for long-distance competition, helped launch U-TV, and spearheaded the successful Yukon Tourism campaigns. More recently Jim has become very involved working with Web 2.0 companies looking to leverage the power of the internet. He is currently providing strategic counsel to Universe, MovieSet, EQO, CityDazz, Qnext and Blast Radius. Jim serves as a board member of BC Chapters of the American Marketing Association, was on the Executives of the Quality Council of BC. Jim is a graduate of the University of British Columbia.
Bruce Watson CA, CBV, LLB
Bruce Watson is a partner with Wolrige Mahon, Chartered Accountants, in Vancouver, specializing in business valuations and litigation support. In addition to previous experience as an audit partner with a Big Four accounting firm, he spent eleven years in industry and has served as an officer and director ofprivate companies as well as public companies on the TSX and on NASDAQ. Bruce is a former CFO of Digital Dispatch Systems and of LearnStream Inc. While working in the United States he was a co-founder of Web Wise Kids, a California-based non-profit organization focused on Internet safety through creative educational media.
Clive Wright
Clive has over 20 years experience in wireless software design and engineering background with organizations such as Motorola (world’s first two-way pager) and Metricom (Ricochet – first public band wireless Internet service and modem). Clive’s entrepreneurial credentials include being a founder of several companies including the pioneering connection manager company Xybec Solutions – which he ran for over 7 years and who were subsequently acquired by Tatara Systems, a US company. He was then Managing Director of Tatara’s Vancouver office, where he oversaw it’s growth to 5x its original size, until his decision to pursue more entrepreneurial activities. Clive continues to maintain his engineering roots alongside his management/investment interests, by building and coding end-to-end prototypes for his latest venture (critical systems monitoring). He has a B.Sc. (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Leicester, UK.
Marcel LaForce
Marcel has over 20 years experience in the software development industry, having held management positions at Motorola, Microsoft, Spectrum Signal Processing and most recently, Electronic Arts where he was the Vice President, Group Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian division of the Games Label. As Group COO, he had full responsibility for the P&L management, strategic planning, product development and operations management for three Games Label Canada studios. Having spent 10 years in the gaming industry, Marcel has extensive experience in the gaming space and has experienced four console transitions, gaining the extensive learnings that come from each transition. He has a B.Sc. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta
